Types Of Still Life…
Location
A Location shoot will take place in a real world environment and can be anything from a dedicated photographic location or a borrowed space that suits the narrative you’re trying to portray. We regularly use specialist kitchen studios, premier high end bathrooms or an entire house. This type of photo shoot may have an extra price tag however location houses also come equipped with attractive furniture and are already decorated with numerous lifestyle props sparing you the additional task and cost of sourcing. When you just can't substitute the real thing they are the way to go.
Styled Set Design
Props backgrounds and other styling elements make up creative still life set design. It can vary from a simple background to a full set build. Always shot in a studio the design might imitate a real word environment such as bathroom or bedroom or it can be abstract, suggestive or a stylised look. The product sits in the set-up and works together with the design to tell the story or narrative. We work a mix of different creative prop makers and set designers creating unique and bespoke backgrounds, the only limitation is your imagination.
Tabletop & Flatlay
Our still life photography is typically shot straight on using a tabletop setup or shot overhead, sometimes referred to as flat lay photography or somewhere in-between. When shot with a top down perspective the product is surrounded by props or other products to create a unique aesthetically pleasing style. When shot straight on you typically have foreground and background to consider which can create depth. Tabletop photography also refers to the bespoke hand made approach to unique perspectives and style. Every creative still life shot requires a distinct approach and with our experience and expertise we talk you though the best angel and approach for your product.
