Benecol product & food photography

Large food and drinks brands require still life photography often used for national advertising campaigns, with imagery used on social media as well as in print for publications and billboards. I worked with my favourite food stylist, Lauren Becker, on a recent shoot for Benecol, introducing their new Greek-style yoghurt range. Working to quite a detailed brief, we created a few simple sets which could then be interchanged for various platforms and to satisfy multiple themes used throughout the campaign.

One of the benefits of working with an experienced marketing and advertising team is being provided with a full descriptive brief including dimensions, sketches and notes providing a guideline on how the final shots should look. In addition to this, we were given some suggestions on backgrounds and information regarding where text or copy would be overlaid, so as to plan the product and light positioning. We mainly used old wooden surfaces which fit in nicely with the theme, teaming with basic breakfast place settings like bowls and cutlery. These, along with some creatively placed ingredients all help bring the images to life.

Several lighting and focus techniques were composited so that the tops of the yoghurts remained silky and luxurious, whilst still maintaining a sharpness in the labels and surrounding ingredients. I used some flash techniques to convey action in other shots, including falling granola and a hand dipping a spoon into the pot.

Fashion still life product photography are usually associated with glossy, high-lit scenes featured on many billboards and magazine covers. However, not all fashion images are used for these mediums, but are just as important for use with copy via other marketing methods, such as printed gift guide and online marketing.

A creative product packshot for a magazine and other marketing platforms. I was approached to provide some creative product photography using the latest "must buy" cosmetics. The main reason for the photography was to create advertising images for use in their latest christmas magazine. A few images would also be used across Instagram and other web marketing platforms. Something i have noticed over the last few years is an large increase in business using professional photography to create product photography to be used online in this way. Advertising Drinks Product Photography

Some clients come to me with the exact idea of what they require, others ask me to create the whole concept from start to finish. The following product photography was definitely the former. The client had previous images from a photoshoot last year, my job was to replicate the packshots exactly, ensuring the images had space for text and the final Still Life packshot would follow the brief. I was provided with a template which i used as guideline when placing the product. Each packshot required space around the final images so it could be wrapped around the square packaging box.
